Kowy (co-ee) is a word my mother and grandmother used to describe soft, gentle, safe touch. It represented comfort, care, calm and the quiet feeling of being soothed through nurturing connection.
Over time, I began expanding the meaning of Kowy into a wellness experience rooted in nervous system care, emotional grounding and intentional touch. Today, Kowy sessions weave together gentle tracing touch through the face, neck, upper chest, arms, hands and back, alongside facial and head care, therapeutic hair brushing and calming ASMR-inspired sensations designed to help the body soften into rest and the mind quiet.
At its core, Kowy is about creating a space where people can feel safe, cared for, regulated and deeply at ease.
Kowy is non-sexual and rooted in safety and consent.

Kowy was originally created with pregnant and postpartum mothers in mind, offering a gentle space for comfort, nervous system support and nurturing care during seasons of physical and emotional overwhelm. Over time, it naturally expanded into a restorative experience for many different people seeking softness, grounding and deep relaxation.
Kowy may be especially supportive for people who:
Feel overstimulated, burnt out or emotionally exhausted
Crave safe, nurturing touch and care
Experience stress, anxiety or difficulty relaxing
Enjoy ASMR sensations including tingles and calming sensory experiences
Feel touch-deprived or disconnected from their body
Are caregivers, parents or helping professionals constantly caring for others
Are neurodivergent or highly sensitive
Carry tension in the jaw, scalp, face or nervous system
Simply long for a quiet space to soften, rest and feel cared for
Many clients describe Kowy as less of a treatment and more of an experience of being deeply held, regulated and supported.
-
Therapeutic hair brushing is a slow, intentional form of head care that uses gentle repetitive brushing, scalp tracing, combing, massage and soothing soft touch to help calm the nervous system and create deep relaxation.
Many people find it comforting, nostalgic and deeply regulating, similar to ASMR sensations or childhood experiences of having their hair played with or brushed gently.
At Koselig Wellness, therapeutic hair brushing is woven into sessions as a grounding and restorative element of care.
-
Buccal massage is an advanced facial massage technique that works both externally on the face and internally inside the cheeks using gloved hands. This approach allows deeper release of tension in the jaw, cheeks and facial muscles that can be difficult to access from the outside alone.
Many people seek buccal massage for:
Jaw tension and clenching
TMJ discomfort
Facial tightness or puffiness
Stress held in the face
Facial sculpting and circulation
Deep relaxation
At Koselig Wellness, buccal massage is approached gently and intentionally as part of a calming, nervous-system-focused experience rather than an aggressive sculpting treatment. It’s amazing to discover just how much we’re carrying in our face and jaws. Many people are amazed at what is released (emotionally and physically) after just one session.
-

Every person experiences Kowy differently, but many clients describe feeling deeply relaxed, grounded and emotionally softened during and after their session. Some people experience soothing tingles, goosebumps or ASMR-like sensations, while others simply feel calm, sleepy or deeply rested.
You may experience:
Deep relaxation
Warmth or heaviness in the body
Tingling or goosebump sensations
Sleepiness or meditative states
Emotional release
A quieting of racing thoughts
Nervous system calming and regulation
Many clients drift into a dream-like or deeply restful state during their session.

You do not need to prepare much before your appointment, but a few things can help you feel more comfortable and get the most out of your experience.
It is recommended to book on a hair washing day, as facial oils and scalp treatments can sometimes transfer into the hair during the session.
Your face will be gently cleansed before the service begins and facial oils or skincare products may be applied throughout the treatment.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax.
Arriving hydrated and avoiding rushing beforehand can help your nervous system settle more easily into the experience.
You are welcome to come makeup-free, though it is not required.
The goal is simply to arrive as you are and allow yourself space to soften, rest and be cared for.

I use a combination of gentle, calming products chosen to support both skin health and nervous system comfort during your session. I primarily use products from Wild Rose Apothecary, a local Edmonton maker, as well as Skin Essence Organics, a Canadian-owned natural skincare line.
Products are selected based on their high quality, natural ingredients and with sensitivity, nourishment and relaxation in mind whenever possible. If you have allergies, sensitivities or scent concerns, please let me know before your appointment so accommodations can be discussed.
